Born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina, Davis Kranchalk grew up playing sports, loving history, and working different jobs, like making pizza and managing road races. His sister's and cousins' performances got him through the theatre door, and inspired him to try theatre in middle school. He acted and sang in the musicals all three years, before taking a big step up in high school. His high school technical director instilled the drive that is still there today. His first and second design role was a scenic design for Arms and the Man, and Hedda Gabler. Both were produced as one-act plays for the North Carolina Theatre Conference (NCTC), and won back-to-back awards for scene design. He moved on to begin designing light for stage, programming and converting his ideas into reality for The Tempest and CLUE: On Stage. He also added stage management to his profile of skills with the final show of his high school career, Mary Poppins Jr.

He moved to Boston to further pursue his passion at Emerson College. Discovering a love for electrics in addition to design, his repertoire of skills continues to expand as he grows as an artist. He is working towards a degree in Theatre Design/Technology, concentrating in lighting and technical direction. Hard working and passionate, he is an effective worker, a good leader, and always puts 110% into everything he does. As a designer, he works to emphasize emotion and theme through color, texture, and shadow. As a leader, he divides tasks so they are tackled efficiently and effectively. He still has much to learn and wants to continue expanding his skills and creating magic on the stage.
